Meat chickens have different needs than egg laying birds. While they both come home to their coops at night, we move our meat poultry to different areas of their pasture like other livestock. Because of this we’ve constructed their coops to be mobile. They love the alfalfa, clover, and everything that lives in it.

Egg laying chickens lay in the morning before their daily foraging trips. Their home base is a large coop with clean straw bedding nestled in the forest. They have the shade they need for comfort on warm days and reassuring protection from aerial predators. Though the eggshell colours depend on the variety of bird, all of them have dark yolks from the rich foraging diet that these free range birds enjoy.
